Omega Bilance

The Story of a Made in Italy Company

For forty years, Omega Bilance has been serving retail businesses looking to grow their sales volumes.

The company was founded in 1928 in Gallarate, in the province of Varese, as a manufacturer of scales and slicers under the name “Giuseppe Ambrosetti.” It wasn’t until 1955 that it changed its name to “Omega Bilance,” specializing in the production of weighing instruments, professional flywheel slicers, and high-end electromechanical systems.

In the 1960s, the company expanded significantly, embracing new electronic technologies. Between the 1960s and 1970s, it entered the global market, obtaining the necessary certifications to sell its products in countries such as Germany, the United States, and Canada.

In the 1990s, Omega acquired CEG, a company specializing in the production of food machinery, thus expanding its product range in the food sector (potato peelers, coffee grinders, cheese graters, and vacuum packaging machines).

In 2006, Ditron acquired and absorbed Omega Bilance, along with the expertise of its employees, saving it from the brink of the economic crisis.

Today, Omega continues to compete effectively in the global market. Its weighing instruments are designed with the utmost attention to cutting-edge technology to ensure customers get the efficiency they need.
